Post Doctoral candidate

At the time of writing the best candidate for the Postdoctoral fellowship is Dr. S. Portegies Zwart, currently Hubble Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In collaboration with Prof. P. Hut, Prof. S. McMillan and Prof. J. Makino he developed the Starlab environment and produced several important results using this software on the GRAPE-4 and GRAPE-6 computers. His expertise in astrophysics (stellar dynamics and binary evolution), computational science (the development of the fully object oriented Starlab environment) and in using GRAPE makes him an excellent candidate for the UvA N-body lab.
