PhD candidate
University of Leiden and VU Amsterdam

I am an astrophysics PhD candidate working at the University of Leiden and the VU Amsterdam. My main focus is on modeling the surface-atmosphere interactions on hot rocky exoplanets. I use coupled thermodynamic, chemical, and radiative codes in order to produce forward modelled optical and ifrared spectra. These are used, among other things, to interpret JWST data.

Recent Work

LavAtmos

Developed and published an open-source lava vaporisation code. LavAtmos calculates the composition of a vapor atmosphere above a lava of a given composition, temperature, and pressure.

Public outreach

Interview on local Dutch radio - Radio Weetlust

On the 30th of January 2022 I answered questions about how and why the moon changes in appearance as seen from earth. The recording of the show is available here.
