Arches

Arches National Park, what else do you need to know. There's lots of arches (aka holes in rocks). I saw probably about 15 arches or so. Only my favorites are pictured here. But there are other things too. Some beautiful panoramas which typify the wide-open red-rocked Southwest are on display in this park as well. Most sites are within a short walk from your car in this compact, easy-to-visit park which includes of course the Utah state symbol, Delicate Arch (featured above).

Does this look familiar? It's Delicate Arch, the state symbol of Utah. I hiked 1.5 miles here along with many others.

A beautiful sunset at Arches. The sun has already set.

The famous Landscape Arch, the biggest arch at Arches.

The North and South windows. These are two massive arches right next to each other. There is no scale here but if I was standing in one of the arches, you could barely see me in this picture.

This is Double Arch, the front arch is gigantic (3rd largest in park) and probably the most asthetically pleasing (it is an almost perfect half-circle). I sat right under the rear arch and it was incredible!

A panorama just after sunrise in Arches showcasing the Great Wall and the Tower of Babel. Even more impressive than this grand view is that I was able to get up at five in the morning to make it here.
