MASCARA Variable star catalogue

This page website hosts the MASCARA variable star catalogue. This contains new variable star candidates and known variable stars. For some of the known variables, new parameters (periods, amplitudes) were determined with MASCARA.

New variable star candidates are listed on this page.
A table detailing known variables recovered with MASCARA can be found here. This includes those variables that did not previously have parameters noted in the VSX database.
Feel free to use this data in further work, but please remember to cite our publication: DOI 10.1051/0004-6361/201833142

Please note that these still need to be vetted with further observations before they can be confirmed as variables.

Explanation of columns:
ColumnName Units Description Note
ASCCASCC-2.5 numberStars are numbered from 1 to 2501977 (as in the first version in agreement with the file order indicated in the File Summary) and from 2600001 to 2603318 (new stars in the 2nd version).

Derived from ASCC.
