Sascha Zeegers On the 1st of November 2018 I obtained my doctorate at Leiden Observatory. The subject of my PhD project is interstellar dust studied in the X-rays. This was a shared project between Leiden Observatory and SRON Utrecht. I am currently working as a guest researcher at both institutes.

I did my Bachelor and Master in Astronomy at Leiden Observatory and I graduated in November 2012. The title of my minor research project was: Model of weak gravitational lensing in galaxy clusters. The subject of my major research project was the feasibility of transit photometry in nearby debris disks. The results of this project were published in a paper. During my master I had a temporary job as a tour planner/tour guide at the Old Observatory in Leiden.
