Jun Makino and theGRAPE-6 in Tokyo
The MODESTA dedicated supercomputer consists of a cluster of four nodes 240 Gflop/s GRAPE-6A/2 special purpose computers setup in a Beowulf architecture.

Each single GRAPE-6/2A consists of 2 modules with four GRAPE-6 chips. Each GRAPE-6 chips contains xxx

The proposed machine is based on a Beowulf cluster of normal pc's with dedicated hardware which is connected via the standard PCI-5V bus of each node.
