I feel very privileged to be part of the astronomical community. It is wonderful to be working in an area that also captures the imagination of a large part of the general public. I participate in outreach activities on a regular basis aimed at a large variety of audiences: School children, prospective students and amateur astronomers to name a few.

For several years I organised the “Profielwerkstukprijs Sterrenkunde”, a competition for students in their final year of high-school. I have also written two articles for ZENIT, the magazine of the dutch society of amateur astronomers.

My ZENIT article describing ExPo and the science we do with it  can be downloaded here.

A separate ZENIT article about the practicalities of observing with ExPo and some of the adventures we have been through with it can be found here.
