I am senior postdoc at Leiden Observatory. I am an experienced developer of models that are used for the interpretation of astrophysical data sets. On a daily basis, I develop numerical codes that help to determine the physical and chemical properties of the interstellar medium in starburst galaxies and active galactic nuclei. Most recently this also involves the coupling of chemistry to hydrodynamics, which provides the means to study the microscopic feedback on macroscopic processes. High resolution simulations will be directly coupled to state-of-the-art observations of nearby and high-redshift galaxies obtained with the Atacama Millimeter and Submillimeter Array, which will allow me to study the evolution of galaxies over time.
