I am a first year PhD student at the Leiden Observatory. I graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur with a masters in Physics.

I am mostly interested in Galaxy Cluster studies especially the merging ones. Galaxy cluster mergers release huge amount of binding energy into the ICM which cause enhancements in the density of
relativistic electrons and / or magnetic fields. These results into large scale diffused emissions such as radio relics and radio halos which are important cosmological probes. Very few of these
objects have been studied in detail due to their steep-spectrum nature and complex geometry. LOFAR (LOw Frequency ARray) can be an ideal tool to study these objects but dealing with LOFAR is not
trivial at all especially due to the ionosphere. Along with the astrophysical motivation we are trying to understand the nature of the ionosphere which we will use as a test bench for SKA
simulations.

Presently I am a member of the LOFAR (http://www.lofar.org) group at the Leiden Observatory. My supervisors are: Huub Rottgering and Huib T. Intema.

Projects I have been working on:
1. Deep radio imaging of the LOCKMAN Hole field with LOFAR High Band Antenna (HBA).
2. Galaxy Cluster: Abell 1914 with LOFAR HBA
3. Ionospheric calibration for LOFAR.
