I am an associate professor at Leiden Observatory and my main research interests are in cosmology. My work focuses on the study of the dark matter distribution in the universe using weak gravitational lensing. The work is mostly observational, involving large wide-field imaging surveys, but has theoretical aspects as well. A related area of research is the multi-wavelength study of clusters of galaxies with the aim of better understanding their formation and the role that feedback processes play.
